There are as many ways to get involved as there are willing volunteers. No matter how you choose to get involved, know that every bit counts.
Each one of the MAY-B Foundation's fundraising events is led by a host committee of volunteers who support our mission and are willing to invite their respective networks to support the event. Prior to each event, host committee members also participate in conference calls with MAY-B staff to assist with various components of the planning process (e.g. venue, catering, invitations, etc.). If you are interested in serving on a host committee for an upcoming event, please contact us. We will be in touch with you shortly to further discuss your interest and answer any questions you might have.
Event volunteers support the MAY-B Foundation at our various fundraising events throughout the year. Depending on the type of event, duties may include event set-up and strike, escorting VIP guests, guest and volunteer check-ins, gift bag assembly and more. Administrative Volunteers help MAY-B staff members with mailings, social media, and other administrative tasks. When projects become available, volunteers are contacted depending on their interests, availability and skills. Scholarship Application Committee
The Scholarship Application Committee develops the process for accepting applications and making scholarship awards. There is a need to assist the MAY-B Foundation with reading applications. Application reviewers help the committee by reading and scoring the scholarship applications that are submitted each year. Preferably, committee have a background in education, admissions, scholarships, counseling, hiring, or human resources. In order to become a reviewer, you must submit a Volunteer Application, receive committee approval, attend all training sessions, and commit to reading applications during the month of March. To get started, please complete Volunteer Application. Upon receipt, we will contact you to set up a time to further discuss your interest and answer any questions you might have. Please note that reviewers are also ineligible to apply for MAY-B Scholarships in that year.
